Take a Five and Take the Drive for Summer music at Grelen Nursery
With the days being longer and the drinks being colder, Central Virginia has no shortage of events and entertainment to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Grelen Nursery, located in the heart of nearby Orange County, is in full swing for the season with some great happenings that feature a variety of music, foods, and wines.
This Thursday, the Market at Grelen is starting off the weekend with some “heavy rocking blues” music provided by the regionally-known Mo Jo Jam Band. Visitors will have the opportunity take in the music from the terrace of the Market while enjoying beautiful panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background.
To compliment the quality music and views, families and friends can enjoy a unique meal prepared by Grelen’s award-winning in-house chef Matt Turner, or sample wines courtesy of Barboursville Vineyards and poured by famous local winemaker Luca Paschina.
The admission to enjoy live music on the terrace is only $5, and those who wish to enjoy a unique and locally-grown dinner can pre-order or pay $20. This week’s menu features an heirloom tomato and cucumber salad, grilled salmon, black bean cakes, and a selection of Virginia wines, beers, and ciders.
As the saying goes, life is often about the journey rather than the destination, but we believe this week's evening at Grelen Nursery will make both parts of that experience equally worthwhile. Anyone with five bucks and in the mood for a scenic drive can enjoy the beautiful rolling roads through Central Virginia and make a unique adventure out of a warm summer evening.
